We’ve heard rumours of a toddler American Gladiators contestant. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen her ourselves as she can’t come to our party, but we have photo proof.
The look: The digger in hand from Granny, chalk outlines of the train track, and a temporary tattoo of a dinosaur, T-shirt from Grammie and trousers from Kalyna.
An all too frequent look these days: Sometimes it’s really, really hard being a toddler.

This morning Thomas was trying to use toy cars as skates, as he has seen Curious George do. The result was a seriously frustrated toddler. “Only monkeys can do that,” we repeated again & again. Finally he seemed to believe us, but you could see him chalking it up as another of life’s disappointments.
In the evenings, as part of the routine, Thomas has dinner, a bath, and lately a small stint on the potty (bop-wee) then bed.. Tonight however as I was filling up his bath (and he was excitedly trying to climb in) I realized that the hot water wasn’t working (dumb story). Drama [...]
Thomas has done a minimal amount of artwork previously. He has never shown much interest in the painting projects at the toddler program, preferring to play at the water table, with the marbles, the trains and cars or play on the climbing frame and slide. He did enjoy spinning the salad spinner at an open [...]
I don’t know who was enjoying the new boots and coat more: Thomas because he was able to splash in puddles or his mother because the frog outfit is so great.

Thomas climbed out of his crib last night, despite the grobag (One of our favourite pieces of baby equipment. Thomas has the ‘Travel Stripe’ in 1.0 and 2.5 togs. It’s part of his sleep routine and if he’s really tired he drags it to us to let us know it’s time to for him to [...]
Actually, it was OK. Thomas has managed to convince me to let him have a look at the iPhone. He’s actually figured out how to use it frighteningly fast. At the moment, he can find the photo library (by clicking on the “flower icon” (which he also does his sign for).. [...]
Thomas can now walk up shallow stairs. This set at the zoo are a particular favourite.
His new words are “nai[l]” and “knee.” He has also discovered foreheads and chins, but he points at them rather than saying them. Waving and saying good-bye to anything that moves by us remains engrossing e.g. planes [...]
